The aim is to provide work that is thoughtful, practical and relevant to everyday life.

Areas of experience

Neurodiversity such as ADHD, autism and dyslexia – children and young people, including adopted and care-experienced individuals – emotional wellbeing, including anxiety, trauma and bereavement.

Professional perspective

Dr Tyerman brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her work.

She has personal experience of neurodevelopmental differences, including ADHD, and of navigating the impact these can have within education, employment and wider systems.

This includes direct experience of workplace processes relating to reasonable adjustments, including situations where appropriate adjustments have not been provided, and the need to pursue these through formal processes.

She also has experience of navigating tribunal systems in relation to disability and employment, providing direct insight into how such processes operate in practice and how psychological evidence is interpreted within them.

This perspective supports a detailed understanding of how difficulties are experienced in real-world contexts, how they are understood by organisations, and how this can affect access to appropriate support.

Her work remains grounded in clinical formulation and professional standards, while being informed by a realistic understanding of the challenges individuals may face.

The name L&T Psychology

The name L&T Psychology reflects a concept drawn from classical mythology, relating to the paradox of Laelaps and the Teumessian fox.

This idea represents an experience that can occur in many areas of life, and particularly in mental health and neurodiversity — where individuals may feel caught in patterns of constant effort without resolution, or as though they are repeatedly trying to reach a point that remains out of reach.
